Redemption in Indigo by Karen Lord

4.0

I think that if I had read Redemption in Indigo as a kid, I would have loved it. As it was, it was an easy, enjoyable read. It's advertised as a fairy tale and it certainly nails the feeling of one. The characters are well drawn and interesting enough. Lovely is the easiest word I can think of to describe it -- it's as light and sweet as one of Paama's desserts. For all that, it didn't really do much for me, specifically.
