Forward the Foundation by Isaac Asimov

4.0

Objectively this is a step up over the other post-trilogy books. It doesn’t follow the usual formula at least. Maybe I just had foundation fatigue, but I wasn’t quite as into this one as I probably should’ve been. I just wish there was more Foundation background. But when it does come up (particularly at the end), it’s very powerful.

Overall, foundation is a good series, but I wouldn’t call it great. It’s a pioneering series for the genre so it deserves respect and is still a good read, albeit a bit too long and with a bit of a dip in quality.
