Kisses and Croissants is the second YA contemporary I have read this year that has surprised me in its execution. Given the title and cover, I had moderate hopes. I was looking for a fun summer read about a teenage girl finding love whilst exploring Paris. Anne-Sophie Jouhanneau delivered so much more! Mia's snap judgements of others, whilst annoying to read, are how people, especially young adults with insecurities, actually act. I was immensely impressed with the ending, which truly had my stomach in knots! I am so happy YA contemporary seems to be maturing past consistently solely of teenage lust conveyed via cringe-worthy dialogue. Bravo Anne-Sophie Jouhanneau! Très magnifique!
