I wasn't charmed by this at first because the main character's friend seemed like such a piece of shit. But as I read more I realised I could enjoy this book without having to feel her sense of grief and loss. I liked all the wandering reflections on myriad subjects and I LOVED Apollo.

The part at the end where "you" changes from the author's late friend to Apollo nearly had me in tears.

This book made me realise how lucky we are to have dogs in our lives and appreciate mine even more ❤️
