The Sea of Zemira by D.L. Blade

I've been looking for a book that gave me the same pirate x siren feels that Daughter of the Pirate King gave me, so when I found out about this book I was intrigued to read about it. This was my first book by the author and I loved the writing style. It was easy to read and understand, making me hooked on the plot. I did guess one of the plot twists but I was still shocked when reading. However, as much as I loved the first 75% of it, I started to lose interest once the main characters got together slowly. I felt as if their connection was almost insta lovey since they started liking each other almost 45% in, and that is a trope I don't enjoy.  I just wish it was more of a slow burn between the characters allowing their connection to grow. I did enjoy the ending, once the action started again. Can't wait to read the second book as I have a feeling I'm going to enjoy it more than this one.
