Fatal Frost by Karen MacInerney

5.0

It's Christmas in Buttercup, Texas. However, the nights are anything but silent. Someone is going from farm to farm digging for buried treasure. A local church is protesting a festival that is trying to raise money to help a local elderly resident. Someone is writing nasty poison pen letters. Then, Lucy Resnick stumbles upon a house fire where a dead body is discovered. After the local sheriff arrests one of her best friends, Lucy sets out to discover the culprit's identity herself.

I absolutely love this series! If it were possible, I would relocate to Buttercup myself. This series perfectly combines my love of the homestead movement and cozy mysteries. It is extremely well written. I was completely surprised by the murderer's identity. I enjoyed how the subplots were blended into the story. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.
