Buying Beth by Izzy Sweet, Sean Moriarty

3.0

(3.5 ⭐️) Ok this is definitely my favorite book in this series so far. I still believe these stories are too short for enough romantic development, but I found Beth and Jonathan’s relationship to be pretty compelling. The sex trafficking storyline was gruesome but not gratuitous which I appreciate. I think Beth is my favorite heroine of the series so far.

I have a similar issue that I had with the first book—there’s a weird racist undertone in some instances. The whole backstory of Jonathan being a “rich white boy” prayed on by the “evil Mexicans” had really weird energy to me.
