The Family Next Door by Sally Hepworth
4.0
This was a quick and easy read that kept me engaged, though I think calling it a “thriller“ is a bit extreme. There is certainly domestic drama between affairs and missing children and illegitimate children, but it’s more like an intense drama than a thriller. I enjoyed the characters and the complexities each one faced with life, family, and children. It’s a group of five women who, although they live close, are all leading different lives and have their own complexities to work through which, ultimately, bring them closer together in the end. The reveal was nicely done and I’m glad there was a heartwarming ending. The story wasn’t overly complicated or intense, but I’m nosy and it kept me invested in the unfolding drama.
