The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold

4.0

Sometimes I got a little lost in the descriptions and couldn’t quite connect. But a lot of this book is touching and so so sad.

It speaks to grief and love in a pure way that I enjoyed.

I will say that one of the final scenes, the one with Ray and Susie, was incredibly confusing for me and took away from the “realness” of the book. At first I saw this as an exploration of the divide between heaven and earth and that piece took all of that wonder and decidedness away. Plus after reading some other reviews I do view it as weird.
