Beautiful story and on a subject /area we don’t see so much about in the British history or cultural education. At times the writing felt a little clunky as it was so philosophical/symbolic at points but all in all I loved it , very emotional
Would have liked more from Defne’s perspective, especially when they were older and she met Kostas again - her perspective on that 20 years. Also I thought it glazed over how she just dropped everything to join him in his London life, leaving Cyprus behind, but maybe that’s deliberate to show the sacrifice /grief of women in these situations and the need to leave?
