Hurricane Child by Kheryn Callender is an emotionally rich story that captures the resilience of a young girl navigating complex emotions and personal challenges. Though it is pact with interesting imagery and Callender illustrates the life of a 12 year old girl enduring what Caroline is going through fairly well, The novel's conclusion lacks the emotional complexities that characterized the rest of the story, making it feel a bit underwhelming. That aside, it was still an endearing novel that I enjoyed reading to my baby. I assume the target audience might enjoy it more, is all.
