the art is gorgeous but the characters are flat/boring or unlikeable. i'm only rooting for & interested in Persephone & Psyche.
maybe it's greek mythology, maybe i don't know enough of it, or maybe it's maybelline but i'm not sure why Psyche and her family are so brown??? for context, i'm Black, and i love me some inclusion and diversity. but here, it feels like unnecessary inclusion of brown-skinned characters– unless all humans are brown in this retelling of greek mythology?? Rachel Smythe, maybe you can tell me why you chose (a lovely, rich shade of) brown for the humans, bc it feels tokenizing 😬Â
