This book had interesting components but ultimately just felt unbelievable most of the time.  It wasn’t boring but at no point did I understand the motive of the husband/villian.  To go into specifics,
if Grace was in love and willing to do anything for her husband, WHY would he risk that security by revealing his evil plan to her?  It was giving Dr. Doofenshmirtz.
Also I never really took Grace seriously considering she guilt tripped her mom into keeping her sister, Millie, and then used ODing to “convince” her parents to give her custody of her young sister with Down syndrome when Grace was maybe 20?.  It was entertaining but very unrealistic.
The representation of Down Syndrome was okay but Millie did feel very infantilized and gullible, and I felt that more negative traits were highlighted than positive.
It sometimes felt like her sister manipulated her by taking advantage of her Down syndrome.
Overall it was okay, won’t recommend it due to the triggers and the fact that I didn’t enjoy it a ton.
