Say You Still Love Me by K.A. Tucker

2.0

This book was... tedious.

I've heard great things about K.A. Tucker, and was excited to read Say You Still Love Me. But from the start, I just didn't like the heroine, Piper. She's spoiled, for one thing. For another, she describes herself as having a tiny waist and being "eye candy" for her office. As a teenager, she regularly feels sorry for girls who have freckles or who are moderately overweight- I mean seriously, every other word used to describe Christa was "thick" or "round". It's was so unbelievably off-putting.

The camp bits didn't read as real teenagers to me at all. Nothing they said to each other (besides a few hilariously cheesy comments from Kyle, thinking he's The Shit when he's actually just seventeen) felt true. I can't think of a single teenager I know, or knew - who would talk the way they did.

Beyond the rich bitch annoyances, I just found the romance flat and uninspiring. There was no real "burn" to it. The book was at least 50% longer than it needed to be. I was just bored. Unfortunately, this didn't do it for me at all.
