Isla and the Happily Ever After, by Stephanie Perkins

3.0

I've heard so much about this book and was so glad when I finally got the chance to settle down and read it. Although, I have to say that I was a tad bit disappointed. All of my fellow readers agreed that this was a spectacular book, however compared to other Romances in which I have read, it just didn't spark as much. Don't get me wrong, I loved reading it, and it definitely deserves the 3 stars I've given it, but so much of me expected it to be a 5-star romance novel.

It had a really cute, and unique romantic story line, however it felt so... rushed. It felt like I skipped sections here and there, and sometimes her emotions were hard to understand, even as someone who was a stage manager in a melodramatic plays.

Overall, like I said I'll give this 3 stars, and it was enjoyable despite these hiccups.

Sometimes you just need to re-read a book. I initially read this in 2016 towards my beginning spike of reading, and rated it three stars. However, going back, I would rate it two. I will leave my three star since I was close towards a pre-teen age (it's generated audience) at the time. However, as an adult it has lost all of it's luster.
