I honestly don't know how to feel about this book. My very first response was probably... confusion. I made sure it was listed as book one when I got it. Then after getting into it I had to check again because I thought maybe I misread. It said book 1 when I checked and so I read on. Yet it still seemed... weird. So I did some research and come to find out there is an 81 page novella that takes place before this. So I stopped this book and got the prequel quick.
First of all-what are you thinking Amazon for trying to sell an 81 page audiobook for $20. Wtaf. But anyway it was a very annoying process. Why couldn't these two "books" just be combined into one 300ish page book. I don't get it. Very frustrating.
Anyway moving on. I enjoyed the story I guess. There was nothing wrong with it. It felt too short in my opinion. It felt a little rushed. I still can't tell if that's intentional or not.
It felt weirdly... immature. It had adult content, yet the writing style seemed YA to me. That's not necessarily a bad thing. However not what I'm looking for right now. I don't know if I will continue the series or not. I enjoy the world but... I'm jut not sure how I feel about the book as a whole all things considered.
