*Janice voice* OH MY GOD
This book was amazing. It was a roller coaster all the way to the final page! You think it's cut and dry and so obvious but it really gets you stressed over the outcome of the trial and the characters.
A nail biter for sure.
The author was so descriptive and wrote so beautifully. As someone who lives on the Puget Sound, I was so pleased with his descriptions of the forests, fields, and people.
He also had a very interesting way of giving us a sprinkling of characters lives but then would focus in on one specific character for a chapter. It was beautiful to read and was engaging the entire time. Truly a page turner.
