What a story! Love, empowerment, and friendship come together beautifully in an era when women had little choice in their lives. I’m so glad I found this book—it’s definitely staying on my favorites list! The historical backdrop of the horse packer Kentucky librarians added so much depth to the plot. The way the characters’ lives intertwined will stick with me for years to come, living rent-free in my mind.

Never have I loathed a group of characters as much as the Van Cleves, but having Margery in the mix made it all worthwhile.

This was the feel-good, heartwarming ending I didn’t know I needed!
