Really Good, Actually by Monica Heisey

3.0

There’s some pretty major hype for this one and I can see why. It’s a funny messy millennial divorce novel and very much about being the worst version of yourself when life changes course. It can be painful to read and deliberately so. The broader cast of characters was my favourite part of the book and they of course all disappear when our newly single, soon to be divorced protagonist is a hot out of control mess. There’s also a point when it all stops being funny and is just incredibly sad which is kinda the point. So I need to process this one and gather my thoughts a bit more but I suspect it will go off with a bang among 30-somethings.
