Песнь пророка by Paul Lynch

5.0

An absolute heartbreaker and relevant at all times, as long as there are wars and conflicts in the world.

Loss after loss, death and destruction around - but the mother’s heart, though numbed by grief and pain, still finds ways to go on, for the sake of her children’s life. The ugly face of war and fighting is shown in all its decaying extremes: broken families, missing friends, lovers, and parents. And at the same time, we are struck by the immense power of a mother’s love. Knocked down, She would still get up and do what needs to be done, not knowing what comes tomorrow.

This book takes you into the strongest pain of all - the pain of losing your child and not being able to do anything about it; the pain of constant rumination of what should’ve been done and said, and the impossibility of turning back to the past version of your life, your personality, your home.

But life still goes on.
