THAT CLIFFHANGER!! So glad I have the next book ready to go.
This book felt a little slower, and we didn’t get as many answers as I would have like BUUUUUT hoo boy, the glimpses into backstories we see are intense.
Baz is such a broken sweetheart, and my heart breaks for what he’s been through (definitely recommend people check content warnings). His relationship with Stevie is definitely a highlight of this book, although I feel like it kind of happened and then disappeared for a bit. Either way, keen to see more and how her relationships with all the guys develop.
This series has been way more slow burn than I expected, but honestly the banter and flirting makes up for it. I assume things will get a little steamier in future books.

Moderate: Adult/minor relationship, Child abuse, Sexual assault, and Murder
Minor: Alcoholism and Bullying
Regarding Baz’s history, sexual abuse by his “foster mother” is distinctly implied, though not seen on the page. Unclear at this stage how young he was, but definitely get the vibe he was a minor or close to it, and mental and emotional abuse / threats are a big part of it. It’s mostly mentioned when she shows up out of the blue and we’re in Baz’s POV and see his reaction to her.
