Mile High by R.K. Lilley
1.0
Okay, so this book was awful. Everything about the relationship between James and Bianca read as downright abusive. I hated how jealous and possessive James acted with literally no provocation, and how Bianca simply gave in to him after having stated her preferences when they didn't agree. Also, it was enormously creepy how James had people going into her house to add clothes or new computers or whatever, and the way that Bianca's supposed best friend encouraged it to happen.
Also, I really despised the way that even though all the drama seemed to centre around James's past relationships, and Bianca seemed to pay for them endlessly, it was always Bianca reassuring James. And the way that he literally tied her down while having a conversation about his past relationships made me throw up in my mouth a little.
I really don't think Lilley has any understanding of what a healthy BDSM relationship is supposed to be (not that I necessarily do, but even I know that it's not supposed to be one partner demanded things from the other and the other giving all the time. It's still a relationship.)
This book did manage rather spectacularly to make me want to throw my iPad across the room on several occasions, but it did not make me want to buy the third one to read, not even as a hate read. The characters in this are all flat, but flat in a way that's deliberately misleading when it comes to healthy relationships between consenting adults, BDSM or not.
Also, there were a slew of grammatical and spelling errors in this. With the content being such utter shit, you'd think they'd make a point of making sure the grammar and spelling was at least correct.
In short, there's no reason to read this book. I started it as a hate read, but in the end, it wasn't even enjoyable in a soap opera-ish way. This is just fucking awful on every level.
