This is my first venture into the horror genre, and I must say, "She Is Haunting" by Trang Thanh Tran gave me quite the chilling experience. It gave me the creeps in a way that only few books have. What's unique about this tale is that it's not your typical horror story with a human villain; it's a genuine ghost story. The author's ability to describe things is excellent, painting such vivid pictures of the haunted house and its ghostly inhabitants that it left me feeling genuinely spooked, and at times, quite disturbed.

What makes this book stand out is its multifaceted approach. While it excels at delivering horror, it also talk various other thought-provoking themes like race, ethnicity, sexuality, and family dynamics. It makes this book more than just a typical horror story. However, there's one minor drawback. The frequent use of Vietnamese sentences or words without translations provided in the book did pose a challenge. It made me to frequently switch between reading and using Google Translate.

Nevertheless, "She Is Haunting" remains a chilling and highly recommended read for any horror enthusiast.
