Four Doors Down by Emma Doherty

3.0

I was enjoying this book at first. After I got used to the writing style, I was able to settle down and really get into it. I loved how Becca shot down Ryan at every turn. Literally everyone in the book knew Ryan was in love with Becca-- well, everyone except Becca. And it was hilarious how oblivious and rude she was toward him. So the book wasn't too bad and I was enjoying it.

And then.

So Becca hates Ryan throughout the whole book. Then almost at the end of the book, Ryan tells Becca he's in love with her. And despite HATING him throughout the whole book, despite being OBSESSED with her former boyfriend Charlie, she immediately smiles and goes "omg I love him too."

What the hell?! It literally came out of nowhere. There was nothing that even hinted at Becca having feelings for him, let alone being in LOVE with him. That's absolutely crazy. She considered him a friend a couple times before he did something to ruin it, and she noticed he was hot a couple timew, but that's superficial. There were zero real feelings there. She's gonna spend YEARS hating him, then after a two minute talk, she decides she loves him? That completely ruined the book for me. It was like the author wanted it to be done with and just threw them together at the end. I don't even like them together. I actually find it hilarious how Becca hated him while he pined over her.

But no. Those last two chapters just had to ruin the entire book. Ugh.
