This is everything I want in a book!!
A unique plot, a captivating exposition, reflective prose…..I’m so impressed.
Written from Mia’s perspective, the entire book follows the disappearance of her dad. The only person who was with her dad at the time of his disappearance is her brother, Eugene, who is not able to speak due to Angelman syndrome and autism.
This book speaks to the power of family. It also holds at its core the humanity of people with disabilities. It exposes how our world is neither kind nor accommodating for people with disabilities.
The book starts out as a mystery but it is so, so much more than that. I was engrossed the entire time and I was inspired, reflective, challenged, and truly in awe of this piece of art that Kim created and shared with the world. Read. This. Book.
