The Book of Delights: Essays by Ross Gay

emotional funny hopeful inspiring lighthearted reflective relaxing slow-paced

This book is itself a delight and I’m sure I’m not the first to say that. Friends bought me this book last year in the midst of a very tough and dark winter. To bring a little joy into my life. A little whimsy and it has done just that. It’s not something you read all at once, but once in a while. Once a day or a few a month but it’s lovely every time.

Ross Gay’s poetry, art, style and self are just so beautiful. I love the way his mind works. It made me notice delights in my own life, and as he remarks at some point, delight encourages delight.
