Compared to the first book, this one ... sucks. It’s sucks. If you loved Josh Bazell’s first novel Beat The Reaper for its medical knowledge, detailed emotions, and hitman aspect, you will be sorely disappointed with Wild Thing. It briefly mentions the above, then forgets about it. It seems that Bazell is viewing the series as a series about protagonist Pietro Brnwa himself and all his “adventures” in witness protection rather than him being a doctor and former hitman.

I had to listen to this on audio while I was driving just to get through it. It was painful.
