The Templars: The Rise and Spectacular Fall of God's Holy Warriors by Dan Jones

informative medium-paced

4.0

Dan Jones is an excellent writer, which tends to make his histories more readable than the average historian's. Here, he covers the two centuries of the Knights Templar, their rise and fall, and the Crusades that happened around them. It's an interesting book, and while it is obviously from a Western point-of-view, he does include some Muslim histories to give a different view of what was happening. Overall, this is interesting and informative, even if it has to skim over a lot of the people and events in order to cover the broader sweep of the order as a whole.
