It was just fine I appreciated the insight into the main characters struggle with lack of self confidence and the aging process, about an aging woman’s role and place in her marriage, her work and as an object of desire. But the ending was left field, not to mention the cover is a little misleading (you might think this was something out of 50 shades of grey). Im unsure how to feel about the book, at times it was like an inner running monologue of the main characters internalised misogyny. I’m familiar with reading and enjoying unlikeable, flawed characters but no one seems to make any decisions in this book that make any sense.
