My Stroke of Insight by Jill Bolte Taylor
3.0
Bolte Taylor gives an extraordinary account of her stroke experience that borders on the surreal in her description of an almost indescribable event. At first she uses sheer willpower and begins her recovery process but then moves towards a new age belief system to account for her encounter with 'bliss' when her now more dominant right hand hemisphere of her brain takes the lead.
It is too bad that she did not continue to use analysis to uncover the reasoning for her new found bias for the right hemisphere. And maybe it is too much of the pragmatist in me that would have liked to see more bridging between the two hemispheres as she does claim that her corpus callosum is thicker than the everyday person's.
