The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway

The classic American novel is beginning to show its age. Its casual racism and antisemitism places it squarely in its time period, but it detracts from the power of the prose. The bar scenes in Paris and the bull fights in Spain are very well done. The third part was my favorite, when Jake sheds all of the hangers-on and is able to relax momentarily in San Sebastián.
