Book 1 was much better.
Second chance romances are always hit or miss for me - there is a fine line between a necessary and excessive amount of flashbacks and this crossed the line. Not only is ut a little confusing, it’s not as cohesive a narrative as it could be to portray their struggles as a couple. The sex scenes almost felt oddly frequent to push the story ahead instead of present tense dialogue. I think the mental health piece was handled well, but the execution just didn’t hit for me.

Graphic: Sexual content
Minor: Suicide attempt
