Dear Dad: Growing Up with a Parent in Prison -- and How We Stayed Connected by Antoine Patton, Kiara Valdez, Jay Jay Patton

inspiring fast-paced

This was super interesting!
I wish it had been longer so it could get a little deeper in areas. There were parts that felt strangely irrelevant because they were seemingly random. For example: she had to stop wearing box braids and lipstick and stop dancing because her dad didn’t like it. This is interesting and perhaps a conflict that could have related to how living with someone changes how you interact with them, but several pages are dedicated to the issue then it goes no where and disappears never to be mentioned again.
