9 Women of the French and Dutch Resistance are captured by the Nazis and transported to Ravensbrük Concentration Camp.  In the final weeks of the war they were sent on one of the notorious death marches from which they escaped. Half starved and suffering injuries and illness they made their way to the American lines avoiding nazis and angry Germans who would turn them in.
