Hella angsty. Slower than the first book, a lot more planning/political stuff going on. I like alina more in this. She got more spunk. I don't know how I feel about Nikolai. I mean, he's a charming bastard but also he did kiss alina without her consent. (Would have love to see her hit him one more time). Also I could've sworn that bardugo was setting up Tamar to be the 4th love interest cuz I was getting some girl in red vibes from her.
The action scenes were really exciting and tense and I wish we could've seen more of them but overall I enjoyed the sequel. The little bits of foreshadowing were so fun! Just enough to give you a hint of something but not so much that you can completely predict what might happen.
