I was torn what rating to give this book.  Ultimately I ended up with a 3.5.  The story centers on Dune who lives in Detroit.  Her mother dies from a mysterious syndrome that is designated as H-8.  The story focuses on the loneliness that is consuming Dune and the entire city.  You never find out what is causing H-8 but there are hints that it is a conspiracy directed toward the African American population.  Recommend but it is more of a character study versus a true pandemic story.
