The Social Instinct: How Cooperation Shaped the World by Nichola Raihani, Nichola Raihani

informative medium-paced

4.0

Raihani is an endless wealth of relevant experiments to her points. It's extremely impressive. And the book is a very measured and modern take of socializing creatures. I'm a little dubious of her conclusion that "think global, act local," is the way we'll get ourselves out of our current self destructive. Her examples seemed to be larger organizations collectively stepping to fill in the short comings of nation states. That, to me, is not quite local. It's just smaller. But anyways - interesting read.
