DUNE: The Graphic Novel, Book 1 by Brian Herbert, Frank Herbert, Kevin J. Anderson

3.0

I’ve read several of the books in the Dune series. I’ve seen multiple film adaptations. A graphic novel treatment seemed like one of the most unnecessary adaptations at this point. That being said, the new Dune graphic novel adaptation showed up on ALA’s “2021 Best Graphic Novels for Adults Reading List.” Therefore, I picked it up at the library.

The Dune books are pretty exposition and internal dialogue heavy. Graphic novels, by their nature, are mostly dialogue. If I wasn’t already familiar with Dune, I’m not sure if I would have followed the plot.

The artwork was fine.

Overall impression? Meh. It was fine.
