Blame!, Vol. 1 by Tsutomu Nihei
5.0
This review is for the entire Blame! Series, I cannot put into words how much I love this series, it’s my second read through and it kept me entranced the whole way through
This story builds the most soul crushing atmosphere, the protagonist journeys through an endless industrial hell scape, witnessing unspeakable atrocities as he searches for the lost net terminal gene, unflinchingly fighting through his many obstacles.
The world building and imagery is god tier and I couldn’t help but just stare at the panels soaking in the shear beauty of what I was reading.
The premise of how the post apocalyptic world has just continued to expand by robot builders that have lost control and just aimlessly continue to build just leaves me with a sense of awe.
Atmosphere really takes precedence over clear storytelling, you won’t feel like you fully understand everything that happened but you will be left with one breath taking experience.
Would highly recommend!
