The Family Romanov: Murder, Rebellion & the Fall of Imperial Russia by Candace Fleming

3.0

Not a lot of facts I didn't know about the Romanovs, but the interlude sections about the rest of Russia were a good way of counteracting the bias of most Romanov histories. If anything, this one was judgmental against the family, which is unique. I may only feel that way because they were not made to feel relatable as sine authors do, particularly the girls who were made to seem as what may be unfairly immature in light of last year's Romanov Sisters. Alexei, too, seemed unfairly portrayed.

It's difficult to talk about fair in regards to such privilege, of course, but I would still recommend other books about the family and am sure there are others focusing on other sides of the story, too.
