Stop it right now. This book was a hell of a good time. I always know that I’m going to be entertained when I pick up an Ella Fields book, and boy, did this one do just that! Amid Clouds and Bones was an addictive, “un-put-down-able” read that I couldn’t wait to return to every time I had to set the book down.
I am not going to say anything about the story because I don’t want to spoil any of it! Just know that it’s got great hate-to-love vibes, and a politically arranged marriage with a cruel anti-hero and a “take no shit” heroine. A magic combination if you ask me.
Ella’s books tend to focus on relationships, character development, drama, political intrigue, and delicious spice while spending a little less time on things like world-building and magic systems. If you’re a fantasy pro, I’d recommend going in with these expectations and you’ll surely enjoy your read. If you’re newer to the fantasy genre, Ella’s books might be a really great place to start because they are easy to understand and get right into the character relationships.
I loved this book so much! If you want something to suck you in and captivate you until you’ve finished, give Amid Clouds and Bones a try!
