I’m Glad I Found You This Christmas: Maggie is worried her boyfriend Dirk is drifting away from her after his promotion and move to London. Her best friend Renee convinces her to book a romantic Christmas getaway and give Dirk one last shot to propose. Maggie finds herself traveling to Scotland, spending Christmas in the hidden wonderland of Hollydell. Will Hollydell work its magic on Maggie? What about reindeer farmer and cat lover Henry?
This book was adorable. I love reading about cute little holiday towns. You can just tell Hollydell smells like pine and peppermint and nutmeg. The people in the village, both the residents and the holiday visitors are also delightful and fun.
I felt for Maggie, trying to make momentum into a healthy relationship. Dirk is terrible and trash. But Renee is so sweet and a wonderful, patient friend. I want to see her back in Hollydell! Henry, the love interest, is really great. I wish there was a little more time spent with him though. The romance didn’t really kick in until the very end, so my only complaint is the lack of epilogue or something.
