In 2011 in the waters of The Gulf of Aden a ship, hauling a supply of oil, called for help in repelling a Somali Pirate attack. The waters of the gulf were patrolled by many nations to specifically aid and stop these attacks. A U.S. Coastguard ship was able to get to the tanker, however, by the time they arrived the attackers were gone and the vessel was on fire.
The Brillante Virtuoso was insured by Lloyds of London and an investigation began to uncover what exactly happen. After leaving his inspection of the vessel a maritime investigator came away with more questions then answers. From that point on the story becomes a "I cannot put it down" book. There's the who, what and where of a conspiracy that seems almost impossible to have been pulled off.
This is one of those non-fiction books that reads like fiction and keeps you on the edge of your seat. The journalists who wrote it tell a well-written story. The research and writing are top notch.
