Netherfield Prep: A Modern Reimagining of Jane Austen's 'Pride & Prejudice' by Elizabeth Stevens
4.0
I consider myself somewhat of an expert on Pride and Prejudice retellings/adaptations and let me tell you, this is a good one.
I loved that the characters felt like they were inspired by the originals but weren’t carbon copies. They had their own quirks and personalities but they had the same inherent prides and prejudices as the original characters.
I also love that the author kept all the important plot points of the original storyline. It seems like whenever I read a P&P retelling they always leave something out. This one didn’t though. It did the story justice while having it’s own things to add.
I will say, this story is 100% written about teens for teens so keep that in mind. They’re kids and they sometimes act like it. It isn’t necessarily some major love story like some retellings I’ve read, but it’s adorable and comforting and it made me happy to read.
