I liked this book, but some of Samuel’s POVs were a bit boring.

I liked Faith and Finn, but I thought that the book could have shown more of their lives and what would happen after they got off the island. Nathan seemed like a nice character, but he wasn’t shown enough so you don’t really see his interactions with Faith and Finn.

I liked the last few scenes that were told from Samuel’s POV, but it felt like his story wasn’t finished yet.

The plot was a bit annoying, specifically the ring.
Finn tells Faith that if she gives him the ring back, he will make sure that Nathan has the best medical care, but I didn’t understand how he could believe that when Samuel is the expert on death so wouldn’t it make sense to believe him?

I don’t think that I’ll continue with this series as I’m not too interested in reading more about this world, but I might try some other books by this author.
