Vivenna had spent her whole life preparing to marry King Susbron and merge kingdoms. However, on the day she is supposed to go her father changes his mind and sends her sister Siri instead.
Siri has never really paid attention to her training thinking as the third daughter nothing would ever be asked of her. Now she is trying to fit into a new kingdom, get to know her new husband (who doesn't have a tongue), and prevent a war.
Vivenna comes to try and rescue Siri only to find herself in a difficult situation. She has to save herself before she can save her sister.
Told in Sanderson fashion this is a big book with twists, turns, fights, love, and some great magic.
