Appalachian Elegy: Poetry and Place by bell hooks
5.0
Rest in power and love, bell hooks!
While I was mostly confused with most of the pieces in this collection, I still loved all the choices of the words in each poems. I just think I haven’t known bell hooks well enough to be able to capture the meaning hidden behind each piece. I sensed the elegy and the life of the nature she was sharing, but capturing the specifics were more challenging. I will read this again after finishing her other essays for better exposure to her works so I could appreciate this collection more.
