All Night with the Cowboy by Soraya M. Lane

4.0

“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own."

‘All Night With The Cowboy’ is the second book in the River Ranch series. I read the first book, ‘Cowboy Stole My Heart’ in January and really loved it. So I was super excited when I received a request to read this second book. Although this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.

In ‘All Night With The Cowboy’ we meet Tanner Ford. Tanner is the son of one the richest Texas families. But instead of working on his family’s ranch, Tanner rides bulls. This is his passion and he made his own fortune with it. But one day, he sustains serious injuries which make it difficult to believe he will ever be back bull riding again. But Tanner is determined to get back at it. Unfortunately this means he needs the help of the finest physical therapist in town Lauren Lewis. And Lauren Lewis is the last person he wants to see. It’s been twelve years since she broke his heart and he made a promise to himself to never get that vulnerable with anyone ever again.

From the moment I started reading this book I was hooked. I loved the previous book in the series, so I had very high expectations with this one. And thankfully it was every bit as good as I hoped it would be. I love stories about Cowboys and close families, and this book had it both. But the best part was definitely the romance between Tanner and Lauren.

When Tanner and Lauren where seniors in High School they had a very intense romance. Everyone, including themselves, believed they would marry one day. But Lauren made a decision and left Tanner, and herself, heartbroken without any explanation. I loved the way Tanner and Lauren had this past together. A lot of the times these romance novels include a ‘new’ romance, but this story was even better because of their history. The chemistry was definitely flying of the pages and I loved reading every single page.

What made this book even better for me was the way Tanner and Lauren both tried to keep their distance from one another. It didn’t work, but it was fun to read about there struggle to keep things simple professional.
Tanner and Lauren were both also very nice characters to get to know. Although I didn’t really get Lauren’s decision of ending their relationship back then, I definitely was impressed by what she achieved.

The one thing I didn’t get in this book was the ending. Although it was definitely good, it also felt a little rushed to me. One minute they were on this Island and the next they were back. And that endometrioses part, I didn’t get why that was a part of the story. It didn’t seem to really fit.

But overall another great book that I’d definitely recommend. I can’t wait to read the next one.
