dark medium-paced

3.0

Picked this book up as it was longlisted for the women's prize 2023. The blurb didn't intrigue me but wanted to give it a go as the perspective is from a dolphin, not your typical read! I wasn't prepared for how dark and horrific this book was, from the start it covered topics that I wasnt  prepared for, and I felt the reason why these topics were sprung upon the reader was to make an impactful shock. In some areas i got lost, especially at the start as I didn't realise there was multiple species and dolphin perspectives to follow, but also I felt slightly lost throughout. Personally I feel the wrasse sections were not needed. I thought it was overall OK, however I will remember the story for a long time.
