Frankenstein: The 1818 Text, by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley

2.0

'...like the archangel who aspired to omnipotence, I am chained in eternal hell.'

I had to read Frankenstein to study in Grade 12 English, and at first I completely hated it. To be fair, there wasn't really a point where I liked it much at all, but it did get a little better. From about the middle when the monster started learning things and doing things, I felt a bit more invested in the story.

Frankenstein: This character to me was so annoying at the beginning, though he got his karma and a half. Towards the end I felt bad for him; his character was utterly self-obsessed though his consequence was on a whole different level.

The monster I have mixed emotions for. I 100% liked him and pitied him from the beginning-middle, and originally understood his anger and actions. Despite this, as his actions became worse and worse with more malice, I began to dislike him.

Basically, what I am trying to say is I fully liked none of the main characters. I generally don't read books like this, but I guess it was a change and overall wasn't AWFUL.
